Prof. Datuk Dr. Amru
Prof. Amru graduated with a BSc (Hons.) in Physiology from the University of Malaya (UM) in 1975 and completed his PhD at Bristol University in 1978 on chlorophyll biosynthesis. Prof. Amru has taught Biochemistry for almost 30 years at UM. He served as the Head of the Institute of Biological Sciences (2000-2006) and was the Dean of the Faculty of Science in 2006/2007. He also served as Dean of the Advanced Fundamental Research Cluster, UM (2011-2016).
Prof. Dr. Sabri Musa
Prof. Sabri received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University of Malaya (UM) in 1989 and joined the UM Faculty of Dentistry upon graduation. He did his clinical/research training at the Eastman Dental Institute, University of London and received his MSc in Paediatric Dentistry in 1993. He was appointed Associate Professor in Paediatric Dentistry in 2000 and is currently the Deputy Postgraduate Dean. His main area of research is Paediatric Dentistry and Dental Stem Cells.
Mr. Wijenthiran received his BSc (Hons.) in Bioinformatics in 2006 and MSc in Biotechnology in 2011 from the University of Malaya (UM). Currently he is a PhD candidate in Faculty of Dentistry, UM. His research primarily focuses on therapeutic potential of dental derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) for neurodegenerative diseases. He has published in international scientific journals on MSCs and is one of the inventors of an optimized technique for isolating Wharton’s jelly MSC for therapeutic purposes in GMP facility, for which a local and US patent has been filed.
Tan Li Jin
Ms. Li Jin received her BSc first-class honours in Microbiology from University of Malaya in 2017. She has worked on projects involving isolation of carbapenem resistant bacteria, prevalence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, antibiogram, molecular microbiology, microbial physiology, food microbiology, diagnostic microbiology and stem cell technology.
Lee Siew Ee
Ms. Siew Ee received her BSc in Biotechnology from Monash University in 2015. Her knowledge and experience range from molecular diagnostic which includes extraction and analysis of DNA and RNA, to stem cell technology involving culturing and characterisation of cells.
Ms Shoba Murugasu received her B.Sc in Microbiology/ Genetics from Latrobe University, Melbourne in 1987. She has 27 years of knowledge and experience in the pharmaceutical industry in both Malaysia and Australia. She brings with her expertise in sales/client management and understanding of the healthcare system.
Mr. Shah Rizal received his BSc. Hons in Biochemistry from the University of Malaya in 2019.He has worked on projects involving characterization of mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-derived exosomes, stabilize MSC-derived growth factors for cosmetics use, characterization of HMGN mRNA in undifferentiated and differentiated MSC, MSC trilineage differentiation and stem cell technology involving cell culture.
Isaac On Yue Yuan
Isaac received his BSc first-class honours in Microbiology from University of Malaya in 2017. He has worked on projects involving isolation of ESBL-producing bacteria, prevalence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, antibiogram, molecular microbiology, environmental fungal infection, microbial physiology and stem cell technology.Isaac is currently on sabbatical leave to Cambridge University to pursue his PhD in Microbial Biochemistry. He received Malaysia's most prestigious King’s scholarship to Cambridge University awarded to the country’s outstanding graduates.
